Zvi Appel’s main area of specialization lies in advising High Net Worth individuals in all aspects of their financial and banking arrangements.
In this regard, Zvi provides comprehensive legal solutions for individuals based in both Israel and mostly overseas, notably in Latin America, encompassing the most suitable financial and banking structures concerning the assets held by families and the individuals, providing ongoing legal assistance and accompanies clients in both personal and private business matters. Zvi works with individuals and families, charities, trustees, guardians, heirs, executors, family offices and financial institutions on both a local and worldwide basis.
Zvi’s work involves advising on banking and Tax Residence compliance issues, which involves ensuring that they comply with the US FATCA as well as the OECD CRS (common reporting standards – automatic exchange of information), “KYC” and all other necessary procedures; for example, the incorporation of holding companies, the creation of Israeli and foreign trusts, and the opening of bank accounts.
Zvi also advises on the legal structures regarding family trusts and individuals as well as comprehensive estate planning. In this regard, Zvi is a STEP Affiliate (Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners), member of STEP Tel Aviv Branch.
Zvi’s clients include Returning Israeli Citizens and New Immigrants to Israel to whom he advises on the benefits available to such persons, including tax exemptions and assisting in their compliance with FACTA and CRS.
Zvi’s main focus is to assist High Net Worth families plan for their future: from drafting a will or advising family businesses, to helping international families and protecting vulnerable family assets and members with respect to taxes, gifting strategies, trusts, private and public foundations.
After completing his studies in Haifa University, Adv. Zvi Appel served his internship with the Herzog Fox Neeman & Co. law firm, and continued to work there as an attorney until 2012. During the period of his employment at Herzog Fox Neeman & Co Adv. Appel worked in the firm’s Private Clients Department (family office), and subsequently, in the Commercial Litigation Department. During the period of Adv. Appel’s employment at Herzog Fox Neeman & Co, he was involved in handling complex commercial disputes in administrative and civil forums for Israeli and foreign clients. In 2013, Adv. Appel joined the firm’s team.
